At DunRite Heating & Air we're here to serve you, not to sell you. We do not believe in the business philosophy of relentlessly telemarketing or e-mailing our customers for more business. We also believe in providing straight forward common sense solutions, to any questions or issues you may have. We will determine if a less costly repair makes more sense than a new system. If a new system is necessary, we'll suggest a system that is the right fit for your home and budget, with no unnecessary up-selling. More importantly you'll always get a written estimate up front, and that price won't change midway through the job.

Mike Wood Owner
Mike Wood

After being raised on a farm in Michigan, at the age of 17 I started in the HVAC industry on June 1 1972. With several years' experience I became a Michigan licensed contractor.
In the spring of 1988 I relocated to San Jose where I worked in the industry for a couple of years, and then I changed directions and went into teaching HVAC at two different schools (IBT) and the Sequoia Institute. At Sequoia in addition to teaching, I designed and built training aids, and wrote the heating curriculum for the school. Not being satisfied I went back into the industry, became a California licensed contractor, with 40 years in the industry, my wife and I now own a home in Los Gatos, and I still am doing the only thing I have ever done HVAC.

I was raised in Los Gatos and graduated at Leigh High; I have one son who lives in San Jose. After high school I worked in the electronics industry for several years.  After growing tired of electronics I started a home cleaning business, where I met my now husband about 14 years ago, I then discovered the HVAC industry was now a major part of my life.
I am involved in the day to day operations of the company. I have found being a entrepreneur, and working with the public is both satisfying and rewarding.

Throughout my high school years I worked with my parents as a part time job in the company. I would do everything from answering phone calls to helping install and repairing customers' furnace and air conditioning needs.  After graduating high school I attended the Art Institute of California in San Francisco, majoring in Media Arts and Animation. After that I went in the opposite direction and into business management.

I am now taking on a bigger role within the company and bringing my background of visual arts and business to help deliver the best possible experience for the consumer; from start to finish.

I actually worked with my Dad in the Heating & Air trades when I was young. He taught me good work ethics- be on time- do your job and how to do it right.  At first I did a lot of new Construction Heating Air Conditioning and Remodels.  Then I was a Foreman for several years in the Lake Tahoe area where it is cold!  I've worked on several types of units from Heat pumps to Boilers.  I've worked with Mike & Lynelle since 1999 Installing & Servicing Residential & Commercial Heating & Air Conditioning Equipment.
I am certified by Climate Control and Refrigeration Technology Type 1 & Type II. Also I am an Indoor Air Quality Certified Specialist.  I am also a Certified Interburner Installer.

At the age of 27 I have been in the HVAC industry for 11 years. I attended vocational school for two years and in that time I was certified universal by the EPA and Ferris State University. Following my brother and fathers lead I have always enjoyed working with my hands and doing the job right the first time. I enjoy my career because it allows me to interact with new people and face new challenges every day.

After moving from Detroit Michigan to San Jose in 2009 I began to work for DunRite Heating and Air. I learned heating and air while working for a historic restoration company in my hometown. Along the way I picked up several other skills like plaster, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing. I was glad to learn all the skills I did at such a young age, because at 26 years old I have a well-rounded knowledge of construction that helps me in my career.

While some firms claim to be called family owned, that doesn't mean much if you've never meet a family member. At DunRite Heating and Air Inc. owner Michael L. Wood and wife Lynelle Wood are personally involved in every aspect of the business.

Chances are your initial contact will be with Mike. He'll also be the one who meets with you and provides an estimate for the job. As an owner Mike has personally provided reliable, responsive, on time service to homeowners and businesses since 1972.

DunRite Heating & Air Inc. never uses sub-contractors; we employ no sales people, just family and employees. We exemplify the meaning of family owned.

Unlike the majority of our competitors, DunRite's employees have been employed with us for years. This is a critical part of the daily operations for any company. Because everyone at DunRite has worked together for several years we all know exactly what is expected of each other. This stability insures a very smooth running business. When a company runs smoothly the customer can sense it in the workers attitude and see it in the work performed. We often hear from our customers about previous experiences of miscommunication from other company's sales people, installers, and management, causing unforeseen expense for the customers. At Dun Rite after years of working together we are ALL on the same page, every day.
